Types Of Funeral Service

Cremation Or Burial

Many people leave clear instructions to their family as to what form the funeral should take. We are pleased to talk to you about the different procedures required for your chosen way. There are many more forms required for a cremation.

About three quarters of funerals carried out are cremation and one quarter burial. You can choose to have a stone on the grave after a burial or arrange with the crematorium for a plaque or other form of memorialisation. We are pleased to help you and advise you at the time or afterwards.

Non-Religious & Humanist Services

Most funerals are carried out by minister of religion and we can help arrange for your local clergy to officiate. Our staff also know Humanist and non-religious ministers who are able to take the service.

The service can include readings from poetry, prose, an address by the minister or simply moments of quiet interspersed by favourite songs. We can help you construct a meaningful service.

Green & Woodland Funerals

There are several places where woodland burials can take place. These are much the same as traditional burials – a coffin is buried in the ground, but often only one person can go in a grave space and there is no right to erect a memorial stone. A tree is often planted nearby. We are pleased to advise you of the various places available – from the countryside of Derbyshire to areas of Sheffield or further afield.
